Annual Golf Tournament Benefits DeKalb County Hospice
November 6, 2009

The 12th Annual Midge and Miles Underwood (MUM) Golf Tournament raised $11,500 to benefit DeKalb County Hospice. Even though the golfing was canceled due to the inclement weather, participants had a great time. There was a wonderful turnout for the dinner, raffle, and silent auction. The committee sends their thanks to the many people who participated and made donations to the highly successful event.

In twelve years, MUM has raised $222,500 to benefit DeKalb County Hospice.  MUM proceeds are donated each year to DeKalb County Hospice, supporting many services offered to terminally ill patients and their families in DeKalb County. The MUM golf tournament and other fundraising events are critical to ensure that Hospice can continue to provide services for our community.

Coordinating the Midge and Miles Underwood Memorial golf event are LPGA teaching professional Sandy Underwood and her sister Mary Underwood Curran. MUM is held in memory of their mother and father who introduced them to the sport of golf. Other committee members are Pam Kitterman, Nate Kitterman, Lea Gorman, Renee Ellingson, Linda Linden, Leslie Jacox, Dana King, and Sandy Talley.
