Our Emergency Department staff and facility have met special training and equipment requirements by the Illinois Department of Public Health and have been designated as an Emergency Department approved for Pediatrics (EDAP)*.
KCH offers a full range of services, including Pediatric Surgery and Rehabilitation. The pediatric rooms are uniquely designed for the child’s eye. We offer a playroom for patients and visitors to enjoy, which promotes a vital, safe place for the child away from any procedures.
Our pediatric nurses are aware of the needs of the family and encourage them to take breaks as they need them for their own wellbeing. The specially trained staff adapts interactions and care to the individual child’s developmental level. They acknowledge the expertise of the family and collaborate with them to provide care for the child. Families of pediatric patients will have the peace of mind knowing that expert care is close to home.
Our Pediatric Services Include:
- The Child Development Clinic , which consists of a team of healthcare providers who diagnose and treat Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (AD/HD) and Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD).
The team provides psycho-educational testing to patients and behavior management training to parents/caregivers, performs clinic and classroom observations and psychosocial screens, as well as provides medication management for AD/HD.

- Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy for children with special needs.
